If you filed your income tax returns this year through the postal mail, how long did it take you to receive your stimulus payment? Just wondering.

  1. Don't get too excited about it.  When you do get it, put it in savings and keep it for next tax season.  I'm pretty sure you'll need it to pay the higher taxes we'll have next year.  All those "stimulous" payments have to be paid for somehow.

  2. If you sent it this month it can take 8 - 12 weeks if you qualify for it.

  3. They should get it out to you in about 8 weeks.  Because they aren't as busy this time of year, it may come even sooner but don't expect it.

  4. At this time it is taking 6-12 weeks to process 2007 returns, once the return is processed it takes 2-3 weeks for the rebate to be mailed out.

At this time could be mid October.

  5. Since you just filed recently, expect to wait at least 8 weeks for your rebate.  Typically the rebates are paid about 2 to 4 weeks after your return is processed and any refund is paid.
