Fungi not only spoil the food material. but it has many uses.

We can obtain pencillin from fungi.

mushrooms which are also a type of fungi are edible  and are good source of proteins. fungi are useful as single cell proteins. some mushrooms like armellaria glow in darkness and are used in mines for illumination. there are many uses regarding mushrooms, which u can refer in the text book of intermediate of Andhra Pradesh
