Economic life of Native Americans vs. Ecomonic life of English settlers/colonists??

  1. Native americans tended to be more hunter, gatherers with some agriculture and the colonists mostly agriculture with only a little hunting/gathering, plus some industrial, services, and financial.


  2. Native Americans lived off the land they either grew or made everything they needed out of things provided by mother earth - they did not use currency as the English settlers did until much much later. English settlers were accustomed to buying/paying for everything they needed so brought currency with them, and opened "outposts" in the colonies which were like a general store where they could purchase food, clothing, tools, etc whereas the indians grew their own food and made their own clothing tools.
