My girlfriend bought something with a $10 dollar gift card that originally cost $25 dollars. She was all happy and saying that she got a and that the item only cost $15 dollars. Am I right in telling her that in reality she actually paid $25 dollars because she could have used that money anywhere else in the store?

  1. You spent $10

    She spent $15

    You both spent $25

    Price of good $25

So no benefit for you both (not even any discounts) but is benefit for her because extra $10 was not her cost. So she really get good only for $15.

  2. naw. just let it go!

  3. Sounds like you didn't like what she bought?

It was a gift, so she only paid $15 for a $25 item...

  4. most gift cards if you only spend $15. and the cards worth 25. she still has money left.   so she really only did spend $15.
