Program 5 started as normal, then noticed a couple of hours later that cycle had not finished but machine was very warm. Opening door revealed hot water inside. Moved timer to salt programme and it emptied.Removed control panel (unwired) from machine. Looked at gears in motor unit, no obvious teeth missing. Connected mains electric to just the timer motor. Selected each proramme in turn, all seem to progress as expected, each programme stopping in the appropriate place. So timer may well be OK. The level of water was not too deep so the machine does not seem to be overfilling. Would a faulty thermostat cause this? (i.e. it heats the water continuously?). I do not know where the thermostat is situated or which connectors it goes to on the timer programmer.
