Ecw referee messed up?

On the main event John Morrison kicked out but the ref said 3 anyway and the announcers and Mark Henry were very surprised did any1 notice

But before that three count John Morrison had told something to the referee,

almost as if he had been hurt, maybe from being in the ring basically the whole time and getting thrown by Mark Henry,

so he may have just called it if John was in pain.
