http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RKC-Waalwijk-c40370 head coach, Erwin Koeman, and the club’s goalkeeping trainer, Ed de Goey, have heaped praise on Jeroen Zoet, and have stressed that the 21-year-old has the quality to become the next first choice goalkeeper for Netherlands in the coming years.
The 21-year-old, who came through the ranks of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven youth academy, started his professional career on loan at Mandemakers Stadion in the 2011/12 campaign.
The Dutch glovesman made rapid developments to his game, and became one of the integral part of RKC. His consistent showings between the sticks played a vital role in the Waalwijk outfit’s ninth place finish on the league table.
De Goey expressed his delight at Zoet’s inclusion in the Oranje squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifier game against Hungary, and stressed that the youngster’s talent is unquestionable.
“Jeroen’s talent is indisputable. He joined RKC last year, and made rapid developments. This experience will further enhance his skills, and it is also good for this little club. It is something I am really proud of," the RKC goalkeeping coach was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
Erwin Koeman, the RKC head coach, was also pleased with the 21-year-old’s inclusion in the Flying Dutchmen squad, and insisted that the promising youngster has the quality to become http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753’ first choice goalkeeper in the coming years.
“The selection is great for him. He has undoubtedly worked very hard. Jeroen is a top professional, who will do anything to get better and better. He wants to reach at the top of his game at the earliest, and has a strong desire to become PSV’s No. 1. This selection will give him a lot of confidence in his abilities”, Koeman said while talking to Dutch media.
Zoet, who has thus far donned the jersey of RKC in 38 league games, has a contract at PSV that runs until the summer of 2014.
