I love edamame in my favorite japanese restraunt, but we don't go there often. Can I make it myself easily? Do you think i can reproduce it in my own home, if so how? Will my local groccery store most likely have it? Do i buy it frozen? How do i cook it?

  1. Yes, your store should have it. Try an Asian market if they don't. Instructions should be on the package, but if not, it is simplicity itself. Get 2 or 3 quarts or water boiling. Toss in a good grab of salt -- maybe about 2 tablespoons. Drop in the edame, and let it boil 5 - 7 minutes. Remove from heat and drain. Put into a bowl and generously salt. Ta da!!!

  2. they come both precooked and fresh in the frozen veggie section.  They are easy to make even fresh as you just boil them in water.  VERY EASY.

You also see them fresh sometimes.  Trader Joe's has them all 3 ways.

  3. Have you check superwalmart or SAM or Costco ?  I seen them in the frozen section

  4. Most grocers carry Edamame in the Freezer section - simply steam and salt. If you have an Asian specialty store in your area though it will be cheaper. Good Luck!

  5. You can buy them peeled and frozen at Trader Joes.
