Eddie Alvarez kicks Patricky Pitbull’s head off – UFC News
Eddie Alvarez went head to head with Patricky Pitbull under the Bellator Fighting Championship banner. While most analysts were unsure of what Alvarez will make out of the fight, he indeed shocked spectators by grabbing a first round knockout win over Pitbull.
However, later, Alvarez claimed the victory is just another one for him.
For many, Eddie Alvarez had put up the best performance of his career. Being the final fight of his career, Alvarez made sure to cement his legacy. During the last few seconds of the first round, Alvarez delivered a huge head kick, putting his opponent to
the canvas for good. The fight was held at Bellator 76.
“It's just another win, that's all it is. The goal never changes -- beat the guy in front of you. No legacies. No money. It's all bulls---. It's about beating the guy in front of you. That's what I'm here for,” Alvarez said after the fight.
“It happens to me every fight. We work on it. I don't know. It's something I'm learning to embrace,” he added.
Even though Alvarez said the victory did not mean much to him, he was clearly all excited to make a statement. Alvarez ran into the crowd and celebrated his victory. The Canadians at the Colosseum at Caesars in Windsor, Ontario, were happy to chant slogans
for the former lightweight champion.
The fight initially seemed tough for Alvarez but he gained control fairly quick. The first knockout came when he countered Pitbull with a huge left but the Brazilian stood up. However, by this time, Alvarez had gained momentum and he was not looking to lose
it.
As of now, Alvarez stands with 24 wins and 3 losses. He is considered among the most elite lightweights in the world, and with this performance, he definitely has scored some more points. Alvarez is now a free agent, which means he is not restricted to a
particular banner. He can switch between UFC and Bellator whenever he wants.
On the other hand, Patricky Pitbull now has a third loss in his past four fights. He stands with 10 wins and 4 losses. This was his second consecutive loss and it surely has damaged his brand to a great extent.
