Eddie Alvarez weighing his options – UFC News
After knocking out Patricky Freire at Bellator 76, Eddie Alvarez seems satisfied with the legacy he has left with Belattor. Now, Alvarez is a free agents and he is weighing his options as to where to go next. Fans, of course, are already eager to know what
will be the Silent Assassin’s next move. However, Alvarez, unfortunately, has nothing to reveal yet. He is still in the phase of deciding where his future lies.
“I want to sit down with the people of Viacom,” said Alvarez today on The MMA Hour. “I'm interested in what's going on with the Spike deal next year. Of course Bellator has a ton of huge things going on, and I'm interested in what them guys have to say.
From there, we'll field offers from everyone else, the UFC and everyone else, whoever is out there, I don't know who's out there. I didn't know Bellator existed, they just started when I was done with my Dream contract, they just popped up out of nowhere.”
It should be noted here that Alvarez is being eyed by mma’s biggest fight network UFC as well. Last week, when Alvarez knocked out ‘Pitbull’, President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship congratulated Alvarez saying, “Congrat's Bro!!! Let's talk :)”
Sure, Dana White has already opened doors for Alvarez for the biggest mma platform out there, but it seems like Alvarez is in no mood for UFC. Even though for a Bellator fighter, it is a dream come true to enter UFC but Alvarez seems unbothered with the
offer.
Alvarez further commented about the scenario saying he does not want to make decisions in haste, instead he will take his time and do whatever he thinks is necessary. According to him, for a fighter, rarely the time comes when he is a free agent so he needs
to make the best choice.
As Alvarez puts it, he needs to win this situation by opting for the best option available. Right now, he wants to be home and wants to have ‘normal’ meals before entering the world of fighting once again. Alvarez knocked out ‘Pitbull’ in the first round,
scoring his final victory for Bellator.
