Eddie Chambers: I want make clear that I really mean business by nailing Tomasz Adamek – Boxing News
Eddie Chambers, the former USBA heavyweight champion, in a pre-bout media interaction shared his feelings about the Tomasz Adamek adventure and commented that he was initially confused on colliding with a great name like Adamek but his friends advised him
to take on the fight and win in order to make a meaningful statement.
Chambers was of the view that after taking the decision he has undergone serious training at the renowned Kronk gym adding that everybody knows that the gym and its vicinity is considered as the toughest training area available in the country.
Eddie will take on the Polish pounder Adamek in a title bout on Saturday June 16, 2012. The duo will take on each other in order to decide the ownership of the vacant IBF North American heavyweight gold.
The duo will meet at the ring set up at Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey, United States and will headline the pay-per-view. The showdown will be televised live on Showtime’s weekly boxing show and will be co-headlined by another heavyweight bout between
Bryant Jennings and Steve Collins.
Chambers shared his thoughts in details during the media session and commented that he truly understands the capability and potential of Adamek and the fact that he will bring a lot of heat and competition in the ring.
Also known as ‘The Fast’, Eddie left the ring after grabbing a unanimous decision win over Derric Rossy in February 2011 and since then has remained outside the sport. While putting forth his thoughts about taking the decision to collide with Adamek, Chambers
stated, “My first thought was that I should not fight Adamek for my first fight back after 14 months off, but then I talked with my friends and trainers and we decided that this would be a good move for me. Show everyone right away that I am back and that
I mean business.”
Eddie also explained the scenario in which he has trained for the upcoming engagement and commented, “Me and my team came together and decided that we really need to go up to Detroit, one of the tougher boxing areas in the country. We actually went to the
legendary Kronk gym, where it’s like 150 degrees every day, like training in a sauna literally.”
Adamek will give a substantial tough time to the former number one contender of the world heavyweight gold but if Eddie really wants to make a statement he must do so by grabbing a classic rather intimidating win.
