Eddie Chambers takes on Polish Tomasz Adamek for the vacant IBF North American title – Boxing News
Eddie Chambers, the former USBA heavyweight champion, is preparing extremely hard and is ready to take on his upcoming opponent Polish pounder Tomasz Adamek, the former IBF international and WBO NABO heavyweight champion, in a 12-round bout which will be
held on June 16, 2012.
The clash will be for the vacant IBF North American heavyweight title and will headline the pay-per-view organised and promoted by Kathy Duva of Main Events. The ring for the bout will be set up at Prudential Center situated in Newark, New Jersey, United
States.
The night will be co-headlined by another title bout between Bryant Jennings and Steve Collins who will take on each other in order to decide the ownership of the vacant USBA heavyweight gold.
Eddie recently participated in a media interaction and shared his thoughts about the upcoming bout and his opponent Tomasz. Chambers, 29, has been in a total 38 bouts and emerged victorious in 36.
The Philadelphia proud has lost just two bouts in his career and to men who are considered as the best in the division and the sport that is Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin.
Also known as ‘The Fast’, Eddie recently collided with Derric Rossy and collected an impressive unanimous decision. Chambers while sharing his thoughts commented, “It could look that way but on paper they like him more than me. The layoff doesn’t help me
either. I watch him, and mentally I think he might try to overwhelm me. Power is his strength, but I prepared for anything. If he tries to switch up, we’ll see.”
Eddie also shared his training matters and commented that everything is going in great shape. Chambers stated, “I’m in Detroit, training at the Kronk Gym. We brought a lot of guys in to help me out, and I’m getting good work. My trainer, James Bashir, works
close with Emmanuel Steward and Wladimir, and he thought it would be a great idea to train here. The atmosphere alone gets you pumped.”
Adamek, also known as ‘The Goral’, is a classic pugilist who has been in a total 47 bouts and boasts 45 wins. The 35-year-old has pinned 28 of his opponents by knockout and is coming from a unanimous decision win over Nagy Aguilera.
The clash will be worth watching as both men are high-profiled and top-notch pugilists who again want to enter the number one world title contender-ship scenario.
