Eddie Howe appointed new boss of Burnley
Burnley have hired the services of former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as the new manager of the club along with his assistant, Jason Tindall.
Howe was present during Burnley’s painful goalless draw to Queen’s Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in the second week of January 2011 and would now take over as the new coach.
The 33-year-old, who took over at Bournemouth in January 2009, was impressive in his tenure with the club, where, despite not signing any new players, still managed to avoid relegation and take the club into League One. Bournemouth was charged with a transfer
ban but Howe still managed to do well.
His side’s top striker Brett Pitman then had to be offloaded while Josh McQuoid was sold off to Championship side Millwall. Despite these setbacks, Eddie managed to keep the team in the top four of the League One table. His impressive career as the manager
led to him being speculated to a move to Crystal Palace or Charlton Athletic but the manager has now chosen Burnley as the right club for his aims.
“This is a fantastic club and you only had to see the fans at the game here on Saturday to see how passionate they are. It is just a fantastic opportunity for Jason and myself to join such a big, ambitious and progressive club and we are delighted,” said
Howe.
The manager added that he and his assistant had a great time with Bournemouth and accepted that a great club like Burnley would have broken their loyalty.
Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League in 2009-10, are 10th in the Npower Championship table, 6 points behind the playoff position. The manager’s first game in charge would be against the highly explosive, Scunthorpe United. Howe
was confident that his side was ready for the challenge.
“We just felt Burnley was that club and we are ready to take on a huge challenge. However it is one we are excited by. The team is in a decent league position but there is still along way to go,” stated Eddie.

Burnley spent one season in the Premier League and their highlight was when they defeated 18-time champions Manchester United 1-0 at home. However, that was the only positive result from an otherwise disappointing season and the owners are now desperate to
get the club back into the top flight.
