during the past week's events, it reminded me of the horrible culture at the collingwood football club and how nothing was being done about it.
then when heath shaw was caught drink driving, i thought this was it. they might finally give some disciplinary action to one of their players which they had failed to do until this point in time. they had lost tac sponsorships, yet only handed out fines and no suspensions.
at this point, heath shaw and alan didak, who was found to be in the car, were not going to be suspended. collingwood again letting the football world know how soft they really are, especially their president eddie mcguire who once again failed to dish out a significant punishment to any of their player for significant misdemeanours (eg. drink driving) that could have ended in somebody's death, and i am glad it didn't.it was only when they lied and made eddie look like a fool that they were suspended.lying is not against the law, and drink driving is. yet it was only after they lied that they were suspended. it seems to me that eddie mcguire is more concerned about how he sounds and his own reputation in the media than about the worrying culture at the collingwood football club.
your thoughts??
is eddie selfish??
is eddie fighting for himself or is he fighting for collingwood??
do you think it was the right decision to sack shaw and didak??
if not, how should it have been handled??
how can collingwood stop this steady decline in club culture that is going close to west coast eagles of 2007????
And is it because of this reason that the most popular and financially secure club with the best facilities and personnel and the best draw every year has not won a flag for the past 18 years and only one in the past 50???
finally, is mick malthouse's time up as coach (9 years, no flag)?
and where are collingwood right now?
