Kolkata’s historic Eden Gardens will host the scheduled One Day International between nemesis India and Pakistan on January 3, 2013, a senior Cricket Association of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 official revealed on Wednesday.
“The decision is more or less unanimous that the India versus Pakistan match will be held at the Eden Gardens on January 3,” a senior Cricket Association of Bengal official told PTI. “After discussions with board as well as with police we found January 3 as an appropriate date. It's New Year time and ideal weather for ODI cricket,” the official added further.
The Chairman of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), N http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829 earlier this year invited Pakistan cricket team to tour India for a short limited-overs series in December this year. The Pakistan Cricket Board duly accepted the offer and the Men in Green will now tour the neighbouring country to play two T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals, in late December (2012) and early January (2013).

The itinerary for the upcoming mouth-watering series between India and Pakistan has not yet been declared, but it is likely to begin on December 25, two days after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 players go back to home on a Christmas and New Year break. The two sides will play three ODIs and two T20Is, before the home side resumes the one-day leg of the England itinerary on January 11.
Meanwhile, a three-member team from England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) toured the Eden Gardens on Wednesday to check the security arrangements at the stadium – the venue for the third Test between England and India, to be held from December 5-9. "The England officials were very satisfied after doing a recee of the entire stadium. Since they had already played an ODI and a T20 last year after renovations were complete, they had a fair idea about the conditions," the CAB official informed.
