Eden Project Marathon – An event to salvage the depleting rainforest: Athletics news
Marathon races world around are run for various underlying objectives as they are organised to promote a healthy lifestyle, to encourage spectators to opt for constructive activities, to spread awareness and simply to cherish a few moments with likeminded
friends from world around.
Perhaps, that is the reason that most marathon races rarely dwell upon the venue they select for runners. Instead of going for soothing the aesthetic sense of participants as well as viewers, they just focus on locating for a track that is easily available.
However, one race that claims to provide its participants a chance to not to feel tired after the run, but to feel fresh has emerged now on the world athletic arena and its initial success hints towards the fact that soon it will become one of the biggest
running events in the world. If you have not figured it out yet, the article is going to discuss the Eden Project Marathon.
Eden project marathon, which is going to have its third edition this year, is perhaps the only race that offers a refreshing track for runners along with the promise that every participant will be encouraged by a gift from the organisers.
The race that is being held on Sunday, October 9 and is expected to attract over 2500 runners this year. On a track that stretches around the countryside and offers fresh air along with professional arrangements for runners, participants will also be allowed
to have free entries for their friends and families.
For runners who are not capable of running for an entire Marathon track, they can go for a half Marathon meet. At a moment when entries are open for both of the races, the Eden Project commercial manager, Tracey Smith expressed her views about the event
by saying that, “After a successful first two years, word is spreading about our races and we’re expecting an excellent turn out again this year.”
The entry fee for the Marathon participation is £30, while it is £23 for the half marathon contestants. The objective behind this year’s event is to raise funds for taking up measures that may result in salvaging the fast depleting rain forests from the
face of the earth.
