Brazilian midfielder, Ederson is in the final months of his contract at Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais. So far, he has not been offered a new contract and could leave Stade de Gerland if the situation doesn’t change
“Players coming out of contract in June, we will ensure that they leave in January. We do not want to have a player who is free on June 30th,” were the words of Olympique Lyonnais president, Jean-Michel Aulas while talking to journalists on December
8, 2011.
However, what Aulas said now contradicts to what’s happening with midfielder Ederson’s contractual situation. Furthermore, Ederson’s recent statements also make Aulas’ statements from last December, hollow to say the least.
The Brazilian midfielder is in the last few months of his contract at the Rhone side but has still not signed an extension to his contract which ends this June. Upon the expiration of his contract, it is likely that the Brazilian will not look for an extension
and would prefer packing up for destination unknown.
Whether he wants to stay or leave or do http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 want to extend his contract, is a question that may Les Gones faithful have been asking for months. Despite all the uncertainty surrounding his future, the 26-year-old has kept a good attitude and
still wants to have his contract renewed.
“The coach regularly points out the importance of the replacements; one must have the right mindset to come into play. Against Lorient, I had five minutes to warm up, but I did it thoroughly to try to bring something. I always remember to renew my contract
with OL. My agents are discussing it with the club, but from feedback, it seems to be a crisis.”
While the future of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ederson-c11880 has done well given the amount of game-time he receives.
Furthermore, the Brazilian has maintained his integrity despite so much uncertainty surrounding his future and it now falls on Lyon to actually do something about the player’s contract situation that should have been sorted out months ago.
