Edeymi likely to win Weatherbys Ireland GSB Hurdle
Edeymi has been rated as the favourite to win the Weatherbys Ireland GSB Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. The winner of the grade-3 event will walk away with a cash prize of €18,525.
A total of 14 runners will be seen in action over the 2 mile race, which is scheduled to start at 16:00 GMT. Following are the names of the confirmed entries: Edeymi, Arnaud, Ballynacree, Sportsmaster, Leroy Parker, Gorgeous Sixty, One Cool Shabra, Time
To Work, Maggie Neary, Blue Cannon, Cops And Robbers, Thegondolier, Shamkhal and Sonapour.
There is a doubt over the availability of Sportsmaster and Maggie Neary, but no final word has come from their respective trainers.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Edeymi has been given the best odds for winning the race. He has taken part in five hurdles until now, winning one of them and finishing runner up in another. In addition to that, he also managed to finish third on a couple
of occasions, which means that there was only one race, where he failed to make into the top three.
The A. J. Martin’s trainee made his debut last year and performed well in his first ever outing, finishing third in it. He continued to impress after that and improved his performances with the passage of time.
In his second last outing, the four-year-old gelding managed to finish first overall. He will be full of confidence for the race at Fairyhouse and the punters will also be expecting him to deliver a decent result, thus they will be placing a lot of bets
in his favour.
The race favourite runner will be partnered by A. E. Lynch, who is relatively new to the sport, but has given some decent performances. He has managed to win five races over hurdles, but needs to improve his overall strike rate in order to attract more bets.
On the other hand, Arnaud will also be the one to watch out for, as he is a very good runner. He has won a single race over hurdles, but his strike rate is not much impressive.
The rest of the participants will find it hard to cause problems in the race, but they still have a chance of causing an upset. However, Edeymi will most probably dominate proceedings at Fairyhouse.
