http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edgar-c11882 Davids, the former Juventus defensive midfielder, has quite clearly stated that he will gladly be the club's next manager if the job is offered to him
Although the Dutchman is currently serving as the coach of Barnet he will not miss an opportunity to serve as the manager for the Italian club.
Davids is not holding back and said that he will steal Antonio Conte’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in a heartbeat since offers like these are once in a lifetime.
His lack of hesitancy in leaving his current club means that his stay at Barnet might just be a stepping stone for greater things to come.
“Conte is a good coach, but I would steal his place on the bench,” the 39 year old told reporters.
The thought process behind this move for the former Juve player would be the success people get after managing a big club like the Old Lady.
“If Juve called, I would say yes. It is a lot easier to manage at a big club rather than at a smaller one. Look at Frank Rijkaard. At http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sparta-Rotterdam-c40567 he was disastrous, and then went to Barca and won everything. Conte was the
same. What did he do at Atalanta? Nothing, now he is doing well.” observes Davids.
The former player admits to learning the skills required to manage a team from his previous bosses Louis van Gaal and Marcello Lippi.
Davids has only recently joined Barnet and seems to be happy managing and playing at the club. He has already had a substantial 4-0 victory on the club’s home turf against Northampton Town.
It was a smart move on his part to put himself in a player-manager role since he has still got some football left in him and managing a side while participating as a player has its advantages.
Davids understands that it is going to be a while before he gets called up by any major clubs who want to employ his skills as a coach. But he is an experienced and clever footballer who can go a long way as a gaffer.
The ex-Netherland International started his club football career in 1991 appearing for Ajax and since then has played for a number of clubs including Milan, Juventus, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and now currently
for Barnet.
