Edge comes out to ‘wake’ John Cena up – WWE News
WWE Monday Night Raw’s April 23 edition had former WWE superstar Edge in the ring with John Cena. Unlike he always did, this time Edge, instead of bashing John Cena, supported him and tried to lift up his spirit. The former superstar had a couple of recommendations
and a short history lesson for John Cena, who according to Edge has lost his stint.
Edge started with saying that he should not be there in the ring with John Cena just when he is about to sign the contract with Brock Lesnar. The former superstar iterated that his contract is about to be over and in sometime he will not be a part of WWE
anymore. He then expressed his feeling of dismay over John Cena’s recent actions and his current attitude. According to Edge, John Cena was once the man who gave the WWE Universe some of the best matches of all time. He called John Cena his greatest rival
and a performer who has given it all to the business. Edge then recalled his TLC match against John Cena that happened in Toronto. According to Edge, that was the mighty John Cena who defeated him in his own match.
Edge brought up John Cena’s loss to The Rock at WrestleMania 28. According to Edge, Cena’s attitude has changed after the Great One defeated him on the grandest WWE event of the year. In a consoling tone, Edge told John Cena to grab his spirit back. The
R-rated superstar said that even The Rock took 8 years to get his ‘mojo’ back after Brock Lesnar defeated him back in the day.
Edge pledged John Cena to get back in his old role of being an aggressive opponent and a true fighter. He told John Cena that if Brock beats him at Extreme Rules, it will be a slap in the face of all the WWE fans and all those superstars who love the business
such as Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.
Lastly, before leaving the ring, Edge came up close to Cena and said, “I am not asking you to beat Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules, I am telling you to.”
