Question:

Edging on a wood floor?

We need to trim a carpet back not even 2 feet from an area we intend on laying wood flooring on. I know what to do for the carpet part because I did carpet cleaning for a couple years. But I am lost at the part of taking the wood edgers and placing them properly so that the wood and the carpet fit nicely underneath.

Any rules of thumb, tips and tricks are very much appreciated. ^^*

  1. When you cut the carpet back I would leave 1 inch overlapping where the wood is going to be. Once the wood is down, hold the carpet above the wood & cut straight down the edge of the wood. Put a ppieceof tackstrip a fingertip off the wood, use a chisel & tuck it in.
