Question:

Edging to add to a baby boy blanket?

I am making a baby blanket out of Lion Brand Baby Soft for my cousin's unborn baby boy. I am using cream and I want to make a border around the piece in pistachio. I am a pretty basic crocheter and I would like to keep it simple anyway. All the patterns I find for edges are really girly and I was wondering if anyone had a more masculine edge that would work for a baby blanket.

  1. Try this link:

There are many to choose from.

  2. Here is a link for crocheted edgings. Hope you find one you like here.

  3. I would either just add knotted tied fringe on 2 edges, or just do a plain double or single crochet around the edges with the different color.  See pictures below.

  4. I don't recommend fringe on a baby blanket.  It is too easy to come apart if baby happens to chew on it, and gets it stuck in their throat.  I would suggest a simple single or double crochet edging instead.
