Edgware Road gets the best odds for Bhest Racing To School Novices´ Selling Hurdle
Edgware Road has been given pretty decent odds for Bhest Racing To School Novices´ Selling Hurdle at Exeter in England on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. The class-5 event has a cash prize of £1,949 for the winning horse.
The going will be good in the 2 mile 1 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 2:30 GMT. There will be 10 runners combating against each other in the race and their names are: Sunshine Buddy, Mangonel, De Luain Gorm, Edgware Road, Tulia De Gravelle,
Knox Overstreet, Lundy Bay, Robin Of Spring, Massachusetts and Slick Trader.
Although Edgware Road does not have a very good record, he has still managed to win the confidence of the bookmakers. He has entered a couple of races over hurdles, winning none of them. However, he did manage to secure a third place finish once, which suggests
that he has the potential to challenge the front runners.
The four-year-old gelding has not been performing well in recent times though, thus the punters will be hesitant over risking money on him.
Paul Rich’s trainee will be partnered by Timmy Murphy, who has got a pretty decent record in races over hurdles, as he has won 113 of them. His strike rate needs to improve a bit, but he certainly has the potential of guiding his horse to victory.
Tulia De Gravelle, trained by Philip Hobbs, has also been awarded with very good odds, despite the fact that she is relatively new to the sport.
The five-year-old mare has participated in just one race over hurdles, but failed to make an impression. She has the potential to turn things around though, as her overall performances have not been bad.
One of the main reasons why the bookmakers gave decent odds to Tulia De Gravelle is that she will be partnered by veteran jockey, Richard Johnson, in the race. He has won 382 races over hurdles, thus the punters will be encouraged to place maximum bets on
him. He has a terrific strike rate and is certainly one of the best in the business.
Sunshine Buddy, Mangonel and De Luain Gorm will also be the runners to watch out for. They have good chances of doing well at Exeter today. However, they will have to be at their absolute best in order to do so.
