Does anyone know any good legitimate sites on edible plants by area of the US. I've tried for days to find one and no luck. I'm preparing for a spiritual journey of sorts that involves me surviving in the woods for a week with only a knife and I will need to find some information to study on edible plants in my area, however i move alot and this will probably be a frequent thing for my life so I need a site that i can look up plants by area of the US. I need as much information on all plants as possible, including poisonous ones so multiple links would help. THANK YOU

  1. I don't know any websites off the top of my head, but have you checked out Stalking the Wild Asparagus, by Euell Gibbons? It's a good resource.

Here are some lists on Amazon as well:

    http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Forager/lm/3Q...

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltgui...

    http://www.amazon.com/Edible-and-Medicin...

    Try here too:

  2. You might do better with books. See what you can find by Muencher. There is also one by Logsdon called Getting Your Food from Water. Not too bad. You might also be interested in parts of military survival manuals.

  3. I don't know of any sites or consolidated resources but I do know Borders Books almost always has a local environmental section and there are series of nature books that would give you the info you're looking for.  For each area you move to you can check out the local store. When you move on, drop it off at a used book store.
