Question:

Edible cell out of fruit??

im in anatomy this year and we have to make an edible cell. i was thinking i could use a large round slice of watermelon as the base, but now im stuck and dont know what to do for the other structures. any help??!?1

  1. you could make the nucleus out of some fruit with a pit, the pit being the nucleolus. a cut up melon would be good for the curves for ER or golgi.  not sure what you'd us for the ribosomes on RER.  a big oblong strawberry cut horizontally would probably work for mito. banana slices for lysosomes.  i think that's all I've got


  2. Watermelon is a good idea. Use jelly as cytoplasm. Orange halved and emptied as nucleus. Other organelles can be represented by red grapes for mitochondria green grapes for chloroplast. Place your fruit in the jelly when it is at semi-set stage.
