  1. Hot hot Hot!

  2. It has been sitting around 15 degrees for ages. This week it has been 18 degrees mainly. Bring a jacket, but not a winter one! Bring a waterprrof jacket though! Rains a bit. The weather here is hard to predict, can be excellent, or a bit dodgy.

  3. Come off it Scotland is not that cold in the summer.

In fact I live North of Inverness and I have friggin' sunburn arrrrrrr!!

  4. i went 2 weeks ago and it was raining and cold one day and warm and sunny a few days later. its the UK, the weather is so unpredictable its unbelievable, bring a winter jacket but also bring some thinner jackets too so you are prepared for however the weather is when you get there

  5. the weathers fine in scotland,

you won't need a winter coat.

  6. winter jacket i don't think so

check out the source below and use there cool tools for weather updates and forecasts also gives you some great info on Scotland her self

  7. You certainly won't need a winter jacket as it is liable to still be quite warm but it would be advisable to have some sort of light waterproof jacket as there is a chance of some rain at anytime. If it does rain in August, it's not the usual freezing cold, horizontal and driving rain that we usually get, it's warmer and gentler, but you still get wet.

  8. There is a belief in Southern England that Scotland has bad weather most of the time- this is largely because every time ANY part of Scotland is likely to have any bad weather, the UK weather reports will simply say 'and rain in Scotland'. Thats often in the far North-West.

Edinburgh's weather is a bit of a micro-climate and certainly better than the rest of Scotland - with much lower rainfall. The temperatures are around 3-4 Degrees lower than the South of England. The key feature is that the song 'four seasons in one day' can happen here on a regular basis - often the weather at 8am is no guide to the weather at 1pm.

Today has been 25 Degrees C, as was yesterday - we are having a run of good weather, but July is bizarrely Edinburgh's wettest month as when it rains it really lets go for a while, so it doesnt seem like that.

In mid-August there will almost certainly be hot dry days, and some rain at others times. It might also have days on end of cloudy overcast weather - who knows!!

But Winter jackets? No, that wont be needed - just a jumper and an umbrella in case its on the lower side of the possibilities. It will still be Summer!
