The Uruguayan has impressed with some consistent goal-scoring form in the previous few years at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, and was an integral part of the club’s promising performance in the previous season.
The Bianconeri have also been linked with a move for Fiorentina’s starlet Stevan Jovetic, and the youth coach at Genoa believes that the rumoured move may not be the best option for the Champions.
Liverani stressed that according to him Cavani will be a perfect signing for Juventus in their preparations for UEFA Champions League, and stated that the club should heartily pursue a move for the Partenopei star.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 36-year-old said:
“If I was making a transfer decision for Juventus then I would do everything that is possible to sign Cavani from Napoli. The Matador is the perfect footballer for the Bianconeri.”
The former Fiorentina player went on to remark on the way the Viola shirt has diminished in value over the years.
Liverani insisted that when he was a player in Serie A, the Gigliati was among the outfits that were most wanted by the players.
The Genoa youth coach stressed that he is unaware of Jovetic’s plans for his future, following the drowning value of the Viola shirt, but maintained that it will be better for the Old Lady to sign a genuine centre-forward rather than the Fiorentina-man.
“I don’t know if Jovetic will stay at Fiorentina. When I played everyone wanted to wear the Viola shirt, but things are different now…”
Jovetic has also been linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, but the heavy asking price of Fiorentina has put hurdles in the path of a summer deal.
Moreover, Napoli are expected to hold onto their highly rated Edinson Cavani, following their decision to sell http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073 to Paris Saint-Germain, another key member of their famous attacking-trio.
