The Uruguayan international hails win over Manchester City as the highlight of his year, and happy to score a UEFA Champions League goal

Cavani has been an inspirational figure behind Napoli’s recent success, and was least season’s highest goal-scorer in the league. He played a major role in helping his side in finishing third in the league, and qualify for the
UEFA Champions League after 21 years.
The Partenopei side has continued its great form this season too, and have qualified for the last 16 round of the Champions League. Despite being drawn in the toughest group of Champions League, they managed to qualify for the
next round after beating Manchester City and Villarreal.
The Uruguayan striker is satisfied with his achievements in 2011, and revealed that the two Champions League games against Manchester City were the highlights of the year for him.
While talking to the reporters, Cavani said,
“The highlight of the year were the two games against City. The match at Bayern Munich was also special as, although we were beaten, we played at a great level. There have been some beautiful moments in the first half of this season.”
The striker has managed to score four goals in six European matches thus far, and is likely to play a huge role in his team’s further progress.
The Uruguayan international has been linked with a host of clubs after his impressive performances of late. However, he admitted that he wants to stay at the Stadio San Paolo for now, and believes that the fans have backed him
a lot in the city.
However, he has not ruled out a future move away from the club.
“I’m happy here at Napoli where I always give my best. I do so because there is a city behind us who always give us their affection and we hope to pay them back with victories. You never know what will happen in the future, but
this is football.” Added the striker
The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals in 17 matches in all competitions thus far this season.
