The agent of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 has rubbished the rumours of his client’s probable move to Spanish side, Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguayan striker has been recently linked to a number of top clubs around Europe following his consistent heroics for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, and Atletico Madrid were believed to be one of the clubs who were after the signatures of the strong striker.
Recent reports have suggested that the current Europa League holders had lined up the Uruguayan striker as a potential Falcao replacement as talk of the Colombian’s exit was shaping up. Falcao is being linked with a number of clubs including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Manchester
City and Real Madrid.
Chelsea have been the most active of the three clubs and are looking set to complete the deal in the January transfer window.
However, Cavani’s agent has denied such talk and has affirmed his client’s commitment to the Italian side. He said that the star striker does not have any move in his mind and would like to respect his contract at Napoli.
“If Atletico Madrid want to pay his €62m release fee then they can have their say, but there has been no contact and we don’t know if they want to buy him,” Pierpaolo Triulzi told Marca.
Cavani has a 62 million Euro release clause in his contract and it would come as a huge surprise if Atletico Madrid decided to meet that figure.
Pierpaolo also stated that he could not tell anything about Cavani’s future while admitting that the Uruguayan was very happy at his current club.
“We don’t know what will happen in the future, but the player is very happy where he finds himself right now.
Cavani’s agent also said that a lot of bids were tabled for the Napoli man but they made him sign a new contract that would see off any chance of transfer, should that happen.
“There have been a lot of offers for him in the past, but Napoli didn’t want to let him go and got him to sign a contract extension instead.”
As per the recent reports, the agent of Cavani has shrugged off all transfer speculation, but what future beholds, it cannot be foreseen as yet.
