Edinson Cavani’s agent dismisses Manchester United link with the striker: Serie A news
The agent of Napoli striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955, has rejected claims linking him with a move to English Champions, Manchester United.
Reports in the English media suggested that the Red Devils are preparing a 30-million-pounds bid for the Uruguayan international in the summer transfer window. However, the player’s agent revealed that United have made no contact with him or his client and believes that at this point of the year, false rumours are always circulating in the media.
Talking to the reporters the agent said, “This is the time of the year when it is normal to hear talk of transfers to big clubs for astronomical fees. The majority of the time there is nothing to them, as is the case with regards to a possible move to Manchester United for Edinson.”
Cavani made a stunning impact for the Azzurri in his debut season with the club and guided his team to finish third on the league table and qualify for the UEFA Champions League after 21 years. The striker has attracted interest from host of European clubs including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid and Juventus too but Napoli have no plans of selling him to any club.
The club President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, recently said in an interview that if any club wants to sign the former Palermo striker, they will have to pay 100-million-Euros. Laurentiis revealed that he will resign from his post if he lets the striker leave for anything less than the price tag.
"I should have my license as president of Napoli taken away if I sell Cavani unless it is for 100 million Euros. He (Cavani) recently signed a contract extension and I have given him a good deal, which he merits." added the President
The 24-year-old recently signed a new five-year deal with the club, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 confirmed his permanent signing in May, 2011. Cavani scored 33 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions in the 2010/11 season. The Uruguayan also contributed with numerous assists and was undoubtedly the player of the season in the league.
