Edit message settings?

Question

I am the moderator of a yahoo group, which was created in 2003. The problem is , whenever some one posts a message to the group, all the current members get the message, but this message is not saved, so when a new member joins the group, he/she is not able to view the old messages, can some one tell me how to change the setting for this, thanks.

management- under group settings click messages- Posting and Archives (Edit) <-- click the edit- lower Archive Options

Access, check members- click save changes
