  1. DVD movie is encoded by MPEG2 standard. And your video will be converted into .IFO, .VOB,.BUP files.

If you just wanna enjoy your video on dvd player, it's unnecessary to know details about this. There are tons of smart DVD burner, like wondershare video to dvd burner. They can convert video files to dvd files and burn them onto blank dvd disc by a few clicks.

  2. DVD format is VOB or MPEG-2 video, I think that is the answer.

If you don't know how to convert and burn video to DVD, you may refer to this step by step guide, it works pretty well for me.

  3. It needs to be in DVD compliant MPEG-2, but the files need to have the right names, be in the right folders and be written to the DVD in the right format.  This isn't a problem though - when you've finished editing, output the video in the format it was shot in (to keep the quality as high as you can) and then use DVD Flick to do the conversion and DVD burning.  It's free!

  4. You can try Cucusoft Video to DVD Converter which is easy to use and very fast. It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, and SVCD. And it has great video edit function. So it becomes an all-in-one VCD/SVCD/DVD Creator. And it has been optimized for 64 bit CPU.
