Editing Videos Using Windows Movie Maker?

Question

Ok...I use WMM to edit and publish my videos..of course they look fne during playback on my camera and also on my pc but once I get them onto youtube they are very pixelated and distorted BECAUSE it takes so long to upload the ORIGINAL filesize..I have to compress it like 20mb which makes the Quality HORRIBLE.

So I need suggestions of other programs or what else I can do, How can I convert the videos from WMV to something else maybe?

btw...I like to edit my videos to have an intro and titles and things so I neeeeeeed to use an editor similiar to WMM. I cant just post without putting my own touch on the videos!
