Editing photos with either Picnik or FotoFlexer.?

Question

I need step by step details, on how to do some photo editing stuff.

On either editing program, how do I make the picture black and grey, but have something like eyes, nails, a hat or something still in color? Step by step please.!

in picnik there is option to make b&w then repaint over items you want re-colored with color filter,

in fotoflexer you can duplicate layer, change to grayscale, and erase items you want color to show through layer,
