We need to find a way to mail and email out press release to most publications in USA. Interested in both magazined and newspapers, particularly local and trade. Where to find a free info like that?

I heard there is a piad service that offers that info. Where I can find it?

  1. There is no free list. And if you do happen to stumble on a free list, you'll need to double check the information because e-mail addresses and names of staff are outdated very quickly.

You can find a list of newspapers through a number of Internet websites. (http://www.usnpl.com/) Use that list to look up the newspapers that interest you and find the appropriate contact.

There are many paid services. Most are very expensive (several thousand dollars a year.) Cision, MediaAtlas, Burrelle's are just a few of the companies that are used by professional public relations professionals. A more affordable option is Contacts on Tap. It's still several hundred dollars, but may be more in your budget.

The easiest way to do this task is to limit the number of publications you are interested in and do a lot of legwork yourself. It's time-consuming, but it's really the one way to do it if you're on a limited budget.
