Edmonton Oilers Jordan Eberle not distracted by Lockout scare -NHL Update
For the Edmonton Oilers 22-year-old right winger, Jordan Eberle, a potential lockout is nothing to be afraid of as the youngster is focusing on improving himself as a player instead of being distracted by the intense negotiations between the National Hockey
League (NHL) and Players’ Association.
The forward is already back from his summer vacation and is looking for a hot hockey year ahead of him and even though a lockout seems more realer than ever than before, Eberle is still determined to keep his mind and soul updated on how it should be in
the event of a season to start from tomorrow.
"It's nice to come back and see all the guys again and talk about how their summers went," Eberle said, according to the Calgary Sun. "But it's definitely a weird feeling coming back when you're not sure when the season is going start. But I'm preparing
mentally as if the season is going to start next week."
While Eberle has not spoken out loud as to what he thinks about the whole situation, there were many signs that lead people to believe that he sides with the Players’ Association on this one as they seem to be fighting for what the players actually deserve
instead of want.
"I love playing here, the city is great, the fans are amazing to play in front of and I think we're building something here that's going to be special. "We have the pieces here, we just have to put everything in place. It's going to be a big year for us
and hopefully we can get to playing soon," Eberle stated.
Signed on for a huge six-year, $36 million contract which will start prior to the 2013-2014 regular season and make him an unrestricted free agent after July of 2019, Jordan Eberle knows that he is secure with Edmonton no matter how the situation plays out
in the end.
With 76 points (34 goals, 42 assists) last season in 78 games played, Jordan Eberle has certainly come a far way from scoring just 43 points (18 goals, 25 assist) the season before that.
