Edmonton Oilers wins 2-1 against the Nashville Predators after shootout

The Edmonton Oilers, last positioned team in the Western Conference played host to the Nashville Predators in another important game of Tuesday.
The Predators needed to win the game as a loss in any regulation or overtime would result in them losing the play-off spot.
Oilers, on the other hand, were hopeful of decent performance on home ice which is something they haven’t been able to do so far in the season.
Both the teams scored a goal apiece during the first period and this is how it remained through the regulation time.

The defence restricted the Oilers to half their shots on goal and most of the shots that the Oilers made were from long range.
The period ended with the scores still level on 1-1 with the Oilers making six goal attempts while the Predators made 12 goal attempts.
