Eduardo Najera makes his 1st public appearance after the head surgery - NBA Update

Charlotte Bobcats player Eduardo Najera has made his 1st public appearance after the surgery to his forehead. Eduardo had 12 screws and a titanium-mesh band holding together his forehead, but the sight was nothing in
contrast to when he crushed his forehead after receiving an inadvertent elbow from Jon Brockman.
After the surgery though, the Najera seemed in good spirits;
"The doctor did an amazing job - didn't even touch my hair," Najera said with a laugh. "My first question was, 'Are you going to shave my head?' He's like 'Don't worry about it, the hair will stay.' I couldn't believe the new technology”.
The freak injury happened as a result of an inadvertent elbow from Milwaukee Bucks’ Brockman on April 6th. Jon’s elbow landed on Eduardo’s forehead during an attempted layup. Najera immediately fell to the ground holding
his head as the players from both sides circled around him.
Coach Paul Silas pictured the grotesque incident.
"Initially I didn't think he was hurt as bad as he was," Bobcats coach said. "He came off the court and I think there was a little blood, but I said, `He'll be ok.' And then he was stumbling around and I thought oh my God, something
is really wrong. He's really bad off."
His forehead bone was shattered in small pieces, at the point of impact, but thanks to the modern day technology he walked out of the multi hour operation smiling. The 35 years old said that it feels he had a face lift.
“I feel like he did a facelift -- not even any wrinkles."
But the injury itself was not a laughingstock, his head resembled to a car that had been involved in a fender bender.  Satire apart the forward was fortunate that he didn’t sustain any brain damage. The doctors said that he will
be able to play in about four weeks but will have to avoid any contact with his head for several months.
He has no need to rush the things as Bobcats are already out of the post season race. Najera is amongst the few veterans left in the club but he couldn’t make an impact this season. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22
games. In his 11th professional year, Najera’s contract with the franchise will mature after this season.
