Former Arsenal striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 and Alex Song were a massive mistake from the Gunners board.
The two players were allowed to leave the team this season, after the likes of Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 came in to sign the players.
Van Persie had indicated that he wanted to leave the team, but with only United make a decent offer for him, the team went on to sell to their rivals.
The Gunners weren’t looking to let http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 go, but with the Catalan club making such a worthy offer for the player and with him indicating that he wouldn’t mind leaving, the club decided to offload the players.
Eduardo thinks that the sale of these players was a mistake and that the team shouldn’t have caved in and let them leave so easily.
"It is a big mistake to sell them - they were the most important players last season"
"But they have other quality players to stay as a big club at the top.”

"Van Persie and Song were the key players last season - they held the team. When you lose two players like that, your chance of finishing in the top four is less.”

"But http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 still have a good team and I'm confident they will do well. Last year when they lost Nasri and Fabregas, everyone thought they would not finish in the top four but they did.”

"When the season finishes, we'll see if it was a mistake or not. It's very sad to lose two big players like that but we must respect the new players and believe they can keep Arsenal at the top."
The team has already gone on to bring in a number of players to fill in the gap that these two have left behind, but despite that fact, it is now going to be a wait to see whether the team can cope with the loss of two of their prime performers from last
season.
