Education for becoming a Web Developer?

I have an assignment for my Multimedia class and I need information on what kind of education and what degrees you need to become a web developer. Can anyone help? Thanks

Technically none.  If you Want to go off on your own, all you need are real world skills.

If you want a high level position in a larger company, it is advantageous to have a degree in Computer Science or Business.

Generally, however, the field rewards those that have strong practical skills.
