i want to join the navy but i only finished yr 10 i done semester one in yr 11 but i had some problems so i dropped out would this affect my chances for applying for a job in the navy my yr 10 marks were good and im austalian

  1. providing you have a clean record you may be able to join with a GED and/or 15 semster hours of college completed.  In the Army at least, we look at college students who have at least 15 college credits as HS grads.  You don't need a HS diploma to take classes by the way---just money lol.  Check your local colleges for this info.  Doing it this way and with the GED does require you, most times, to score at least a 50 on the ASVAB which is generally harder if you don't complete HS.

    Yes you can join the navy with a pass in maths and english in year 9 and 10.

    Of course job options would be limited due to not finishing high school, but once in the navy you can study more if you choose too.

    I wish u luck on the JOES day, its dead easy, you gotta do a maths and aptitude test on the computer, and after that you sit down with a recruiter and they give you a list of what jobs are on offer for you.
