  1. Working knowledge of Nihonggo and at least 10,000 Japanese characters (kanjis, hiragana) for document translation. If you want to work in the frontline services, a degree in Foreign Service or in Diplomatic & Consular Affairs would help.


  2. Diplomacy, law and political science are good courses in order to work in the Japanese Embassy.

  3. Speak Japanese.
