techniques that work best for you in teaching.

I find the most effective way to teach something new is to teach them some background information about the subject and model any new behavior that might be involved. I try to use a variety of techniques to present the background information so that it is meaningful and engaging, even for different kinds of learning styles. I like to design activities so students have to work together in an atmosphere that is collaborative and social. I want my students to investigate, discuss what they are learning, write about what they are learning, and relate it and apply it to their own lives. I have also found that being enthusiastic about a subject is contagious to my students. My students know that I believe that they can learn. All of this needs to take place in a classroom that is orderly and has established routines for a successful year.

  1. I know I'm answering all of your questions. ;) I hope I'm not getting annoying. I just thought I could help!

I think you have done a great job of being specific here! You may know this, but there is actually a term called "schema building," which is using the students' prior knowledge to help them understand new concepts.  I'd add that into the paragraph; however, if you don't feel comfortable with that, I still do believe the paragraph will be great as it is!
