Edward Marks conquers Boys 100m butterfly title - Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Day three of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships began in stunning fashion with the performance of Edward Marks in Canberra, Australia, on Monday, September 19. The session of the meet conducted the Boys 14-15 and 16-17 years
old 100m butterfly final races.
Initially, Edward Marks of New South Wales secured gold medal in Men’s 14-15 years old 100m butterfly final heat with a winning mark of 55.84 seconds. In the corresponding race, Andrew Walker of WA secured silver medal on the podium by submitting an impressive
time of 57.08 seconds. Jacob Hansford of NSW earned bronze title in a time of 57.13 seconds.
Ho Ka Kwong finished fourth in a time of 57.47 seconds, while mark Ragel of QLD settled fifth with a mark of 57.69 seconds. Nicholas Brown was placed sixth in a time of 59.21 seconds, whereas, NC Groenewald wound up seventh in a time of 59.22 seconds. Josh
Mcdermott was placed eighth in a time of 59.80 seconds. Mitch Phillips of QLD was placed ninth in 1 minute and 00.21 seconds, while Luke Staffe of WA earned tenth spot in the respective meet in a time of 1 minute and 01.06 seconds.
In the meantime, the Boys 16-17 years old 100m butterfly crown was taken over by Hugo Morris of NSW with a triumphant mark of 53.83 seconds. In the corresponding splash, Regan Leong of QLD secured silver medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 54.66
seconds. Zac Whenuaroa of QLD earned bronze in a time of 55.14 seconds.
Issac Jones of VIC settled fourth in a time of 56.42 seconds. Mitchell Pratt of VIC finished fifth in a time of 56.51 seconds and Will Harmsen of TAS earned sixth spot in a time of 56.66 seconds. Tommy Sucipto of WA earned seventh position in a time of 56.97
seconds, whereas, Michae Passaro of VIC settled in eighth in a time of 58.07 seconds.
The arena applauded for the matchless efforts of all swimmers, while winners were awarded accolades after the session’s completion.
