The former Manchester United goalkeeper was all praise for Frank de Boer while hoping to see the Eredivisie champions perform impressively in the Europe’s primary club competition.
Edwin van der Sar has heaped praise on the Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Frank de Boer, and has expressed optimism that the Eredivisie champions would perform well at UEFA Champions League this year.
The 42-year-old tactician, who took over the managerial hot seat at Amsterdam Arena in December 2010, has been leading the Amsterdammers brilliantly since taking over from Martin Jol, guiding them to two successive Eredivisie titles.

“Frank de Boer is a very good friend of mine, so he's doing really well and after winning two league titles in a row I think the team's doing extremely well. Hopefully this year they can do well in the Champions League. That's
the main thing so I hope they can be ready for that also”, the former Manchester United goalkeeper was quoted as saying to Goal.com.

“Not right away but I think 6-7 years from now is a good time for De Boer to coach Netherlands. I think he could coach another big club from abroad, then maybe go for the national team”, the former Dutch goalkeeper concluded.
