Edy Reja all-praise for his team and not ruling out Scudetto push: Serie A news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 manager, Edy Reja, has praised his team after the 2-0 win over Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara on Sunday, October 23, 2011.
The Biancazzurri continue their impressive run of form and move to the 2nd spot in the league table. Reja is all-praise for the club fans and believes that they played a huge role in their win. The tactician has demanded
the same level of support from the fans and insists that they are a vital part of their success.
Reja said, “It went well and we didn’t run any real risks here. It’s very important that the fans stay behind us like this, as if they believe in the squad then we can achieve great things.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss has not ruled out his team’s chances of winning the Scudetto and insists that they will keep fighting for the top spot. Reja has urged his team to build on the good start and insists that they must not throw
it away as they did in the last season.
“Can we win the Scudetto? Italian football is very difficult, as don’t forget last season we got off to a very strong start too. We will keep working hard, then wait and see how the table looks at the halfway stage to understand
what level we’re at, but without setting objectives.”
The Biancocelesti remained in the top three for major part of the 2010/11 season but a late slump in form denied them the UEFA Champions League spot and they finished fifth.
The veteran manager has demanded the same work level from his team in the future games as well and believes that each and every member of his team played to his fullest against Bologna.
The tactician also confirmed that the influential midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hernanes-c16150, is struggling with an injury and will undergo a late fitness test before the next game.
Lazio have now picked up 14 points from seven games played thus far and are only one point behind the league leaders, Udinese. They will take on Catania in their next league game on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
