The Biancazzurri boss laments defeat to Claudio Ranieri’s men, and believes that they deserved at least a point from San Siro.
Lazio manager, Edy Reja, believes that his team should have beaten Inter Milan at San Siro on Sunday, January 22.
The Biancazzurri slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Nerazzurri after taking the lead in the 30th minute. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giampaolo-Pazzini-c14802 handed
them the defeat.
Reja insisted that his team played extremely well in the first-half, and defended nicely until Milito’s goal. He insisted that he is happy with his team’s performances despite the defeat, but they need to remain focused for full
90 minutes.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss insisted that his team had more shots on goal than Inter, so they at least deserved a draw from the game.
“In defence we were set out well, but we let ourselves get conned by that Milito one-two before the break. We needed a little more concentration. It was a decent performance overall, even if we made a few mistakes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 made
the most of, being a great team. Perhaps even a draw would’ve been a tight result considering the game, as we created much more than Inter. They only had two shots on goal.”
Reja slammed the refereeing decision for costing his team the game, and insisted that Pazzini was clearly offside when he scored. He also believes that they were denied a clear penalty when Lucio brought down Miroslav Klose in
the box.
“Pazzini was absolutely offside when he scored. In the other moment http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 and then handled the ball.”
The veteran tactician backed his decision of substituting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hernanes-c16150 in the latter part of the game, and insisted that he wanted to introduce a genuine attacker.
Inter dethrone http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 on the fourth spot of the league table, and remain only six points behind leaders, Juventus. The Nerazzurri have now picked up eight consecutive wins in all competitions.
Lazio will face Chievo Verona in their next game on Sunday, January, 29, 2012.
