The Biancazzurri manager accepts blame for the defeat against Siena, and vows to field his strongest side against Hellas Verona...
Lazio manager, Edy Reja, is expecting a strong backlash from his team after a humiliating defeat at the hands of Siena recently.
The Biancocelesti suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat against Giuseppe Sannino’s men at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday, January 7th. The result will be a huge blow to Lazio’s Scudetto chances, as they now sit
seven points behind leaders, A.C Milan.
Reja has apologised to the fans, and insisted that there are no excuses for the defeat. He believes that the team played poor football, and they deserved to lose the game. He accepted the blame for the defeat, and believes that
all players and himself are equally responsible for it.
While talking to the reporters, Reja said:
“There are no excuses for the performance at Siena, you cannot argue with a game of this kind because we produced a performance below the quality of Lazio. This is a group and when this happens all are responsible, including the
Coach. I hope that this experience is used to start again from, so we can return to better times at Lazio.”
Biancazzurri President, Claudio Lotito, called a meeting with the players after the defeat, and has clearly told them that their recent performances are unacceptable. Reja is expecting a strong reaction from his squad, and he is
hopeful that they will bounce back strongly.
