The Biancazzurri boss hails his team’s performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, and backs Djibril Cisse to end goal drought
Lazio manager, Edy Reja, is eagerly looking forward to the Coppa Italia quarter-final against A.C Milan, and vows to field his full strength team against the Italian Champions.
The Biancazzurri will travel to San Siro for their last eight match of the competition on Thursday, 26 January 2012. Reja insists that every competition is important for his side, and he will play his best team in the game.
While talking to the reporters, Reja said,
“I will field the best possible Lazio line-up in Milan,” assured the Coach. “Every competition is important and we must always push for 100 per cent. If the players who started on Sunday are in good shape, then they will start
tomorrow. We’ve got to aim to win every single game, even in the Coppa Italia, where we tend to have a good tradition.”
It will be Lazio’s second visit to San Siro in the last five days, as they were recently defeated 2-1 by Inter Milan in a league match. Reja is looking to make amends for the weekend defeat, as he believes that his team deserved
to win against the Nerazzurri. He insisted that his team was superior to Inter in that game, but the refereeing decision cost his side the three points.
The veteran tactician has urged his players to continue their good form, and is hopeful of getting a positive result.
“I cannot complain about our performance, as the Nerazzurri didn’t get near the ball before they scored. Then there were the incidents we all know about with the referee. If we keep playing like that, then the results will come
your way eventually.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss also hailed under-fire striker, Djibril Cisse, who has not scored a goal since his strike in Lazio’s 2-2 draw against Milan in the second game of the season. Reja is upset with striker’s poor form, but he
is confident that former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 star will end the drought soon.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 defeated Hellas Verona to qualify for the last eight, while Milan edged past Novara to make it to the quarter-finals.
