The Lazio manager is predicting a tough game against Chievo and backs Djibril Cisse for success despite exit rumours
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 manager, Edy Reja, has warned his team against the threat posed by Chievo and believes that it will not be an easy game for the Biancazzurri.
The Biancocelesti will take on Chievo in their next league encounter at the Stadio Olimpico Rome on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Reja has urged his team to take the game against Chievo seriously if they want to continue fighting
for the title.
The tactician admitted that despite being favourites for the match, they will have to fight for a result as nothing is guaranteed in Italian football. Despite a 2-2 draw against Udinese over the weekend, Reja is pleased with his
side’s performances and insists that the players showed real quality throughout the game.
The 66-year-old admitted that his side has not played well at home this season but the fans have helped them a lot with their support.
A win will take them closer to the top spot and the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss has urged his team to end the year on a high.
“It won’t be an easy game. There is no such thing as a guaranteed result in Serie A, but Lazio have to try to win them all. It’s what we tried to do against Udinese on Sunday night, even if there was some criticism over the change
of tactics.”
The veteran tactician also rejected reports linking Djibril Cisse with a move away from Stadio Olimpico Rome in January. It is believed that the Frenchman has failed to settle at the club and is eyeing a return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
However, Reja has backed the striker and is that he will be able to find his lost form soon.
“Cissè is a proud lad who can’t stand this sort of performance. He seems to be physically fit, now he just needs to rediscover that faith in himself. I hope it can happen tomorrow, because my intention is to play him and I’d like
for Cissè to break his drought, as he can give us a big hand.”
Cisse joined Lazio from Olympique Marseille in the summer transfer window and has scored only four goals in 17 appearances thus far.
